When they had Dom DeLuise take over for Paul Lynde as the family physician, they should of given him a different name than Dudley.

why did Paul Lynde leave The Munsters. Was it because of Bewitched. He was only in three episodes or so and wasn't Dom Deluise only in one.

Paul Lynde played Dr. Dudley in "Rock-A-Bye Munster", "Low-Cal Munster", and "Eddie Nickname". Paul could not come back to perform in "Just Another Pretty Face", because he was under contract to Bewitched.

I think it must have been another reason, because Paul Lynde only appeared once on "Bewitched" that season. He seems like he was a frequent guest star, but really only appeared in 11 episodes (of 254).

I'm pretty sure it was contract restrictions. If it wasn't Bewitched, than it was definitaly something else. Maybe a movie, or studio or something.
