Default The worst birthday gifts you've ever received

I'm sure we've all got something to say about this....

I really hate it when people give me candles.I have about 50 unused candles in my house that I will never use.I have no use for them, and I get a headache from burning anything, which is why I dont use incense either, which is also another gift I hate getting! I also dont like getting underwear from people who aren't close close family,or partners. Its too intimate for me.Basically I dont like anything that I have no use for.

I don't like getting anything as a gift that sticks around. I have too much stuff as it is. My home is decorated the way I like, so I don't want anything decorative. If I need a new toaster or coffee maker, I buy it myself. I like to buy my own clothes and jewelry.

My family and friends know this. I like to receive gift certificates, flowers, magazine subscriptions, lottery tickets, a box of chocolates, maybe a Christmas tree ornament....just nothing that sticks around.

Clothes, if I want clothes, I'll get them myself. I remember about 6 years ago my granma gave me a Teletubby sweater. I was like "Am I supposed to wear this?"

like Janice said, things that stick around. I hate when I recieve novelty items that sit around and collect dust. But I rwally do believe that it is thought that counts and if someone went through trouble to buy it for me than I will more thn happy to keep it out

I'm with you 100% on this. I also have my home just the way I want and hate when people buy me little knick knacks and other stuff that I have no use for or that is just not my style. I hate recieving clothes from people too. Everyone automatically thinks that because I am a woman that I want something all pink and girly but that is not the case. A lot of people don't like to give money or gift certificates as presents because they don't think that there is any thought behind it but I disagree. I appreciate money or gift certificates much more than stuff that is just going to end up in the back of the closet. When I give birthday or Christmas gifts it is always money unless the person tells me specifically what they want, then I will get it for them.

Action figures. People think "Since he's a boy he MUST be into action figures!"

Clothes... everyone else gives me $$ except one aunt who picks out the WORST clothes. It's a shame- they're really expensive (she's got money), but just not my taste.

Clothes that aren't me. My dad's family watches me come over wearing all black and baggy pants and stuff, then they turn around and buy me little pink sweaters.

Uhhh. You think I'm gonna wear that, you're wrong.

I don't remember a specific birthday gift that I've hated, but some of the worst gifts are jewelry and clothes that aren't me. I used to get clothes that I either didn't like, or it wasn't my size, so from now on I ask for money because no one screws up on that
