Default For those who have seen the British Version...

For those who have seen the british version, what are the differences and which do you like better. Personally, I am obsessed with the British version and I don't think anyone can ever compare to THE David Brent (a.k.a. [as he likes to call himself] the Brent-myster General) and I know no one can beat Gareth or Tim so even though I haven't seen the American one, I don't think I'll like it as much. But I want to know the opinions of someone who's seen both. So tell me what you thought.

I just watched the English version of the show, and I must say that the episodes are basically the same. So I can't really say one is better than the other. In my opinion it is the same show, just different actors and accents, and different meanings to jokes.

I have only seen a few minutes of the UK version. And those few minutes were much better than either of the episodes of the US version of I have seen so far. I am not surprised it lost so much of its audience from episode one to episode two.

Only the first episode will have similar plots. They used the same sotry for the first episode of the US version. After that, they will be all original scripts.

I prefer the British version, and the biggest reason would be Ricky Gervais. Not only was he so damn funny as David Brent, but he brought a sense of sadness to the chracter. He was the boss from hell, and said and did a lot of stupid things, but at times you felt sorry for him, which mad the character more human and believable.

Steve Carell is a funny guy, but he's no Ricky Gervais.

Without a doubt The British version of the office is better. Ricky Gervais is hillarious as David Brent.

The British version is alot better. I was lmao when the NBC announcer was talking about the American version and used the word "original" to discribe the show. How can it be original when it is a remake of the british version?

Looking at that post, I have to say I no longer favor the British "Office" over the American version. Over time, NBC's version has really grown on me. I'm very happy that they've kept it on the air, because I think it's really catching on.
