Post Least Favorite Ep/Eps

Just to make sure this hasn't been asked
before, I went through all the questions
and didn't see it anywhere, but if it
has been asked before, I must have missed it. What is everyone's least
favorite ep/eps?

There are only two episodes that I wasn't really fond of. The one where
the girls help a teenager who is pregnant and the one where the girls
try to help a couple's marriage.

The ones I usually won't watch are:

1. Cousin Sven's visit.

2. The one where Sophia finds the
professional boxer.

3. Save the dolphins where Dick Van Dyke
guest stars.

Which episode is that from? The # 3
answer you gave that is! I remember Dick
Van Dyke dressing up as a clown. I have
to agree with you on the first 2 answers
that you gave, I don't really watch those
two eps.

I may be mixed up on "Save the Dolphins" but I thought the girls were protesting and all got arrested and dragged into court...I guess that episode wasn't so bad--- I never really get tired of them as long as there is at least 4 or 5 weeks between seeing episodes.

If that is the ep I am thinking of, then I totally agree, the girls aren't seen hardly at all in that ep...it's like a whole other show!

The episode that I'm referring to is
where their friend, the wife, comes to
them and tells them that her marriage
isn't going so good. Plus, if memory
serves me well, the wife has redish
brown hair, it looks more like red hair.
Is that the episode that you're talking
about?

OK... here's the scoop:

The "Save the Dolphins" show had Dorothy dating a lawyer (played by Dick Van Dyke). She really thinks he is "the one," but he quits his job to join the circus. Rose, meanwhile, is working to save the animals. Blanche joins to find a man, and the entire group of protestors gets arrested. DVD arrives in court wearing a clown get-up, and wins the case on a technicality. The end is Dorothy and DVD saying good-bye and she takes a hanky from his pocket... which is tied to 50 other hankies.

The episode where they try to help the married couple was the basis for the show "Empty Nest." No, Richard Mulligan was not in it. But, the man was a doctor. Charlie (Joe Izuzu for us old people) was there, but as a pilot. The house looks just like the one in "Empty Nest." Although it's nothing like the show, it is how the idea started for a spin-off of "Golden Girls."

I hope that ends some confusion.

I don't like the one when Blanche's daughter, Rebecca, is with her boyfriend. I think they went a little too far with the fat jokes and it just turned out mean. Other than that, who can get tired of the girls?

The guy who played Rebecca's boyfriend later went on to be Frank Fontana on Murphy Brown. Joe Regalbuto (sp) is his name. I haven't seen him in anything since Murphy Brown left the air.

I didn't care for any of the eps when any of the children or grandchildren made a visit....also didn't like when Flo from 'Alice' guest starred as Rose's blind sister.

I think all the eps should just focus solely on the girls and not on family or neighbors. Stan was the only family member that was actually funny.

Any episode that had children in it. Let's face it, the girls had poor chemistry with children and it really showed; this was an adult comedy by all means.

Although one funny episode with kids was when Blanche's grand-daughter comes to visit, and Blanche puts he in the "Little Miss Miami" contest. Blanche has to go on stage to try and get her to sing, and she ends up doing a bump-and-grind to "put on a Happy Face." I laugh at that one each time I see it.

My least favorite episode is the one with Rita Moreno and Paul Dooley as the next door neighbors. This was supposed to be the pilot for Empty Nest, but I guess the network didn't like this version and hired completely different actors. Whenever Lifetime shows this episode, I change the channel, quick!!! Not that I don't like Rita Moreno, who is an excellent actress, but this show was boring!!!!

Yeah, this episode did suck.

I also enjoyed the episode where the girls go to the birthing center to check out Becky's birthing options. They are in a nice, floral room... and then you hear a woman scream. And then again. And then again... and then a high-pitched squeal that makes me die laughing.

THIS IS A TERRIBLE EPISODE! I HATE IT! It's the worst one ever made; it comes before the one where Blanche's niece Lucy comes to visit!
