Question Are we stuck in time?

Does anyone know why Lifetime has been stuck in the 1990 season of Golden Girls for like, 2 months? Every day I turn it on expecting to see some different eps, but I always get Rose getting sexually harassed by her dentist, George coming back in Blanche's dream, Sophia sleeping with Tony DelVeccio, Mammy coming back for the music box, and so on. Will we ever get out of this rut?

[b]I e-mailed lifetime TV asking them why they keep showing the same eps. over and over. They replied a couple of days later to me and said that they only have the rights to those 2 seasons. I don't know why they don't try to get the rights to the other seasons!!??!!

Are you sure... b/c how is it that Lifetime can show the 1st and last episodes if they're only allowed to show seasons 1 and 2??

Do any of you realize that the Golden Girls is also on, on the weekends. Yesterday, I saw the episode, And Then There Was One followed by, Diamond in the Rough. You have to look at all the times the Golden Girls are during the week. They are on three hours a day, so six episodes a day during the week and on the weekend, they are on at least twice on Saturdays and Sundays, sometimes more.

Beginning on October 31, The Golden Girls starts over with the Pilot at 11:00 p.m. followed by Job Hunting at 11:30p.m.

What I don't understand is how can they only have the rights to those two seasons if they've been showing episodes from all 7 seasons for a long, long time?

Cool

[color=red][b] If you don't believe me, e-mail Lifetime TV for yourself. That is what they told me: "They only have the rights to 2 seasons worth of shows"

Franco, I don't know what channel you watch "GG" on, but I know Lifetime DOES NOT show all shows from all 7 seasons.

Cool

Interesting that they said they have only the rights to 2 seasons. They've shown one from just about each season from what I've seen. I'll email them as well and see.

Wonder which 2 seasons, cuz I saw the pilot and the end a few times, and on top of that, I've seen a few in the middle...lol. They don't make sense!

Maybe they meant they only have shows totaling 2 seasons worth but not from only 2 specific seasons.

(ex. say they do 16 shows a season maybe they have 32 shows from various seasons that total 2 seasons worth of shows)

Saphire, I wasn't saying I didn't believe you, I was just saying that maybe the person who e-mailed you had erroneous information. I've been watching the GG on Lifetime for three years & at one time or another they've played just about every single episode. Unless for some reason they lost the rights to some?

Ok, I got an email response telling me the shows they rerun have been the ones they have rights to, just as everyone will, I'm sure.

I guess they lost rights to some afterall, but that makes no sense to me seeing as they could show them before! Ugh, oh well...we live with what we can get, true? True.

(Complaining does no good, I even asked about the Golden Palace with no avail.)

Since The Golden Girls came to Lifetime in March of 1997, they have aired every episode. They would occasionally skip an episode here and there and save it for airing during a special week like a Mother's Day week or Valentine's Day week. Then just a couple of months ago, they must of lost some rights, because it has become very noticable. Quite frankly, I'm not surprised, Lifetime, airs more of The Golden Girls then any other show, numerous airings on the weekends and six episodes a day, something had to give.

Red face

I wonder if they can get the rights back to those other shows??
Maybe TV Land will pick up the "Golden Girls", then again maybe the show isn't "old enough" for TV Land
