Default Sorry, Wrong Number

I think that's what the episode is called, the one on last night about the diamond thieves. Although it has its funny moments, I think that one was poorly written.

First of all, why was Jack against going on the date Larry set up for him? He knows Larry doesn't date dogs, nor has Larry ever set Jack up with a dog, so why would Jack try to turn down the date?

Why would Rita arrange to meet Jack at a roller rink, of all places? She wanted to be inconspicuous so why wouldn't she meet at a more private place?

When the diamond thieves came to the apartment, what was Janet thinking, trying to bargain them down from $50,000 to $15,000 or whatever it was. Then she tells Jack to pay them. She was no help at all. Why wouldn't Janet or Jack just say, "Look, there's been a misunderstanding. You have the wrong person."

I liked when the guy said, "What do you think of the stones?"

Terri said, "I just love their new album."

I love Terri in this epi! She is so silly! Great lines!! I love that line!!! This was a great funny epi! Like most of the plot lines there would have always been a better, smarter and faster way of solving suitations but the way they wrote the epis! were great!! totally funny!

I have a lot more respect and admiration for Terri now that I've seen a lot of her in the recent episodes She's sooo sarcastically funny...it's great!

I'm glad that Nick-at-Nite kept in the tag scene of tonight's airing of Diamond Jack. In the tag scene, after the trio returns to the apartment, Jack states how he's mad at Rita and how much he hates the answering machine. When all of them go to their rooms, the phone rings and the answering machine picks up. The recorded message is that of Jack stating that anybody can have the machine. The girls then storm out and angrily knock on Jack's bedroom door. Previously syndicated airings left out this tag scene.

This is a good episode overall, but there's one part that doesn't make sense. I wrote this on another thread before, but I think it's worth repeating here.

When the trio retreat to Jack's bedroom pretending to count the money for the diamond thieves, they attempt to escape through the window by climbing down a bedsheet. Unfortunately, the end of the bedsheet that was tied to the bed comes loose and it falls out the window, leaving the trio no chance to escape through the second story window.

But if you consider other episodes, then the window couldn't possibly be too high to jump out of. Consider:

1. In "The Kleptomaniac", Jack falls down backwards from the ladder he was painting from after he sees Chrissy take money out of his drawer.

2. In "Breaking Up Is Hard To Do", Janet falls backwards from the ladder she was leaning against the kitchen window when she sees Terri's new boyfriend put what she thinks is poison in the salad.

In each of these cases, neither Jack nor Janet sustained any serious injury. So if a backwards fall from a second-story ladder did not cause any injury, then surely a regular jump wouldn't have cause any injury either.

I really agree with Vegas Girl. What the heck was Janet thinking. Trying to get them from 50,000 to 15,000. she was really no help at all. That was probably one of the most ridiculous lines that they wrote for Joyce.

Terri: (in her sexy voice)Hi,so sorry we couldn't come to the phone right now,but if you leave your name and number,we'll get back to you as soon as possible.(kiss.kiss)Goodbye for now

Janet:What was that?

Terri:I was just trying to sound friendly

Janet:Friendly?!You sounded naked!

I love that part
