I've been having alot temper tantrums lately. It's kind of embarrasing to
me because I'm in my 20's but I felt so down lately. I no one cares about me. I try to tell my parents that these mood swings and tantrums aren't my fault and they're like impulses but they don't believe me. They say I just act that way to get attention. It maybe true since I only a very small group of friends when I was in school. I was in special ed and classified as midly ******** by the lame teachers.I miss having those friends I could talk to. My parents were never listen to me. I want to write a letter to one of my close friends about this but I'm afraid I'll scare her!,Can someone here please help me?!

Sorry to hear that. It's a shame your own parents won't listen, but all of us here are willing

Aw..I'm really sorry about that too. I think you should write to your friend though. They can help a lot. I have a lot of temper tantrums, but I think it's because I'm a teenager.
By the way, *Pleasant Tomorrow*, I love your avatar! He was hilarious in "Bruce Almighty". |

Sorry to hear this. Normally though, you don't really have tantrums when you're depressed. Sounds like you might be having them out of frustration. My brother was also diagnosed as "borderline ********" but now that I read about ADD, I'm wondering if he was misdiagnosed back in the 60s.
The symptoms of true depression more are: a combination of some or all of the following that last for more than two weeks at a time, and especially when you cannot see any specific reason for your depression (i.e. loss of a family member): 1) a feeling of hopelessness - like things will NEVER get better 2) a change in appetite - either a noticable weight loss or gain 3) a change in sleep habits - getting too much or waking in the early morning hours. 4) feelings of inappropriate guilt 5) the inability to concentrate or make decisions. 6) thoughts of suicide 7) loss of pleasure in things that you used to like doing 8) disturbed thinking - wanting to do odd or violent acts 9) moving slowly - general lethargy If you feel that you fit several of the descriptions above, you should go see your doctor and speak to them about it. They can get you help! Don't delay either - the sooner the better! Good luck! |

When you're depressed, you do tend to be really frustrated, which could make you upset and stuff.

Hey,
I was diagnosed with dsythymic depression, which is a mild but chronic form of depression. Basically, it never goes away. I get the occasional bout of a temper tantrum here and there-- the littlest thing will frustrate me and I'll just start crying and stomping my feet like a child. Usually it passes, though. I'm glad I've learned to cope with and control my sad feelings. |

I don't have 'temper tantrums' per se, but I'm very impulsive and very rude.

I suffer from terrible depression; and usually when I am experiencing an episode of feeling sad..I am very quiet..or I would do something really stupid and childish, but usually I want to be alone and I isolate myself from my friends or loved ones...right now I am terribly depressed and I fee like dying, it sucks
