Default Christopher Lloyd is a method actor! Read!!!!!!!!

A method actor does all the following strange things:

1)Refuses to play a character till he figures out the character's motivation.

2)Hits others for real in a fight scene---or gets hit for real himself in a fight scene---just to make it look real. The bodily harm!!!!!!

3)Puts himself into the mood of the character he is playing just so he will be convicing and he can't get out of it easily once the director yells 'cut".

4) Spends weeks rehearsing the job of the role his character will play just so his character will seem convincing.

Remember all this about Lloyd before judging his performance as Jim on Taxi.

Still chris in my opinion just made the show more funny when he came as a regular in the 2nd season.

I wholeheartedly agree with Timerider. The characters were all fantastic, particularly Louie, Latka and Alex, but Jim is my favourite. Chris Lloyd is also my favourite actor at the moment.

I think we seen some of chris,s character rev, jim from taxi in back to the future, I dont know if the writers put it in or chris did but it was a great idea.

Marty to Doc. doc you mean to tell me my moms got the hots for me?
Doc. Precisely
Marty. wo thats heavy.
Doc. Theres that word again heavy, why are things so heavy in the future is something wrong with the earths gravitational pull?

This sound like jim?

IMO Christopher Lloyd can do any kind of character and it would be funny. He is just a natural. I like him the best in Back to the Future, but I have only seen like two episodes of Taxi and the one that I saw was the one where Jim first came. I thought it was really funny especially when he was doing the written test and he asked Bobby
Jim: pssst what does a yellow light mean?
Bobby: slow down.
So then instead of writing "slow down" he says it slower. It is hilarious. I like him the best in BTTF though. Those are like my favorite movies now that I have seen them.

I agree. Even though I have only seen two episodes he is just naturally funny. He can do any character and do it well. I was watching the making of Back to the Future movies and they said when they were picking the cast for the movie they knew right away when Christopher Lloyd came in that he was the perfect Doc Brown. They couldn't have chosen anyone better. He is the best doc they could have ever had.

I wonder what Lloyd took to put himself in Jim's "mood"?
