When the show is syndicated in countries like, Canada, The U.K., Russia, Italy, Mexico, Germany, France, Poland, etc. etc. ....
Do you think their opinion of The Munsters might be different because they live in other countries, and The Munsters is an American show? |

They may think all Americans are like The Munsters.I get to be FG .It'd be interesting to hear the show translated. Just to see how things get lost in translation. |

I think their view of the show would depend in how familiar they are with the old Universal monster movies.

I live in Canada, and you'd be amazed at how well the show translates into Canadian!!! (I take it that reference is more for Mexico, France, etc.! - I hope anyway)!!!

I can't imagine watching The Munters in Russian. I know its because of the Cold War but in some episodes there are some jokes made about the Russians. There are a lot more like that on Gilligan to and any other 60's show.

A friend of mine fed the lyrics of songs into, I don't know, some translatin' thingy on the 'net, and had them translated to Chinese and back to English. It's pretty funny how they came out.

I have some Spanish episodes from Venezuela (although not currently with me). I plan to eventually make some video clips, because I think it's interesting to hear what kind voices characters receive in other countries.
