You guys have such great memories (or you have all the episodes taped)! Anyway I was wondering if you could refresh my memory on this particular case. It was a murder of a young woman. It took place in the basement in the laundry room and the only witness was her daughter who let the killer in. They had a composite done of the guy. He may have killed her with a lead pipe. Sound familiar?

Yes. That was the 1982 murder of Doreen Picard. The other woman, Susan Laferte survived the assault, but had no memory of the attack.
Ten years later, a man named Raymond "Beaver" Tempest, was arrest, tried and convicted of Picard's murder, and was sentenced to prison. (He wasn't charged in the assault of Laferte since the statue of limitations in that case had expired.) However, some DNA testing is slated to be conducted at some point because of claims that Tempest is innocent. The case was recently featured on a Discovery channel series called "Guilty or Innocent." |
