did anyone else like sophia's character in the early episodes...she was more angry in the beginning, and her sarcasm wasn't as funny....

Maybe it's because of the whole Shady Pines thing...

I've noticed that. She seems different, not as funny. Plus I think she at first powdered her hair white, then they switched to a wig. Dorothy also seems different. She seems meaner, and her voice sounds very deep and manly, whereas the newer eps her voice is more scratchy.

I agree, Sophia did look most different, but she was hillarious, the way she would eat things after she said something stupid, and sometimes Dorothy would say, "Oh give me that!", lol, I'm sorry, it just cracks me up!! And also, "She shot my vase!"
"Thank God, I hated that thing." LOL!

Sophia fan here...can I say something? A lot of remarks were made at HER expense too, so everyone gave as good as they got.

Honestly guys, the bittersweet comments everyone made at everyone is part of what made that show hilariously funny.

Either that or I'm a mean ol' lady like the paperboy says.

I think she was just as funny but I agree that she was a lot meanier.

Blanche: There must be homosexuals who date women.
Sophia: Yeah, they're called lesbians.

I always thought Sophia was funny...even at the beginning when she was a little meaner. But as the show went on she lost some of that meaness and had that Sophia charm that can make anyone laugh.

I disagree. With all of Dorothy's "Sicilian Gecko" and "Shady Pines" comments, Sophia got (almost) as much as she gave. Besides, Sophia made fun of Blanche and Rose too, not just Dorothy.

I think Sophia was great all 7 seasons. I did NOT like her hair in the first couple episodes though...

To me in the begining she was more spacey. In the middle years she had it more together. And then the last couple of season she was spacey again.
