Default How did you become an AI fan?

Ive always wondered how did everyone become a huge Idol fan?

How did I become a fan? Well Crystal ( I Love Clay Aiken) and I chatted a lot and this was during AI2 and she was always talking about how much she liked Clay etc., and so I downloaded some of his stuff, then I told her in an AIM that I might watch AI3, I did and look now Im an AI fan!

Hmm...well in the summer of 2002, I remember my brother and his girlfriend talking about American Idol (the first season.. can you believe it?) and so I was watching it with them one day. I even remember what episode it was...it was the big band results because I remember them singing "Bandstand" (which btw is one of my favorite group performances on AI of all time haha) and then I kept on watching from there and became a huge Kelly fan. I watched season 2 on and off.. I was actually a Ruben fan back then haha then came season 3 and the only reason I watched it in its entirety was because people at school were talking about the season premiere.. and from there I became addicted. I found it so addicting, I started taping it and downloading all the mp3s of the performances... and well, look at me now.

Cool

Well I didn't watch AI 1 but my cousin did and she had me hear Kelly and I grew to like her so I than decided to watch AI 2 and became hooked as well as AI 3 than AI 3 really peeved me off so I stopped watching after that Season 3.

But what used to draw me to Idol when it hadn't peeved me off yet was seeing the contestants each week and watch them perform songs I hear on the radio so the performances and songs had me hooked to Idol before it angered me. Now i will go and leave you reality tv fans be okay.Mel

I saw the finale of the first season at my friend's house. Then I watched it from the beginning during the second season.

I watched the auditions of AI 2 because my teacher auditioned but then I never saw her and quit during the semis. Then I watched Wildcard week when I was doing a mythology project and I fell in love. I watched Motown and Movie week as a casual fan and then I became obsessive once country week started. And I've been downloading MP3s from AIBR since Disco Night of season two.

I didn't get the hype. I watched both season finales (parts, at least) and was like... what's the point? Ew. But then my mom was OBSESSING over the auditions and stuff in season 3 and I was like *sigh* and just let her go on her way. Then I was watching semis with her one night and I was like HUH and I saw Amy and died. I was like, "That girl has the coolest hair EVER" and then she got in so I was like, "Cool! Someone to root for!" And that's that.

I'm not lying when I say that I've never had a person tell me that they didn't like American Idol after watching atleast 1-2 episodes (not including the auditions). I watched it in Season 1, just because everyone started talking about it. I really enjoyed it too, but I thought it was just a show I liked, I didn't even consider it my favorite. I didn't start taping until the top 12 of Season 2. I became an intense voter in Season 3, and am still a dedicated fan of Season 4

I remember when they were showing commercials back in summer 2002, i remember saying "that's dumb, who's gonna watch that crap" I watched it the first night when it premiered they were doing auditions because there was nothing else on, and missed the first 20 mins of it, but I started watching and getting into it and im still watching it i never miss a night

Before the second season started I was seeing these promos with audition clips and, after seeing Simon, I just had to watch. I've been watching it regularly ever since.
