Post Lifetime's Editing

Am I the only one who is sick to death of the way Lifetime hacks up each episode. Commercials put in at awkward spots, scenes cut and put back together with laugh tracks ending abruptly. I can't wait for this show to get on Nick at Nite. Hopefully they will do a better job, hopefully they'll air the whole episode with no scenes cut out. It probably won't be on Nick at Nite, though, for at least 5 years or so.

I believe "the golden girls" started around 1983 or 84??? If so it should be on in about 4 or 5 years minimum. N@N'S latest addition "the facts of life" started in 1979, 4 or 5 years before "the Golden Girls".
So judgeing from that data....5 years it is, if ever!

Wrong. It did not start then. The Golden Girls aired on NBC from 1985-92. A lot of people dislike it that networks cut shows out....

Louise: Lionel, you'd better go to to your room. I don't want you to get hit by your father.
Lionel: Why would Dad hit me?
Louise: Because I'm not sure just where I'm going to throw him.

going by that, Newhart would not have premired until 2002 and Wonder Years would not have until 2009. No, they just show things whenever they feel like it.

ps. Golden Girls started in 1985.

If it gets to Nick at Nite or TV Land, it will be just as bad as they are just as bad at showing chopped up episodes . I'm sure you have seen this on Lifetime where on some episodes of Golden Girls they edit out some of the opening theme song.... Now thats bad !

Thumbs down

Lifetime has butchered so many episodes of GG! In the episode where Dorothy has Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Lifetime has cut out half of the dialogue between Sophia and the doctor. And in the same episode, when Blanche says she has writer's block, they have removed all of Sophia's response about her own "blockage". Curiously though, in the episode where the girls are arrested for being prostitutes, there is a scene ADDED that was not in the original! The whole scene where the girls check into the hotel and are talking about who is going to be at the Burt Reynolds party, and Sophia tries to trick Rose into giving up her ticket to the party by telling her that she won the Publisher's Clearinghouse was not aired until it was on Lifetime. I have most of the series on tape from it's primetime NBC broadcast, and this scene was not part of the original episode!

I recorded all the golden girls off nbc and that prostitute episode you listed is inaccurate. On mine, Sophai calls Rose from the next room claiming she won the pub. clearing house. THAT is on my original. Maybe they cut things out at random. I noticed once on an NBC repeat of a 1987 episode in which Blanche and Dorothy read Rose's diary, I recorded that one on it's original air date, and in it, Rose makes a comment about George Bush being married to his mother. When it repeated that summer, that remark was cut out. Don't know why though.
