Why did the show constantly use Henry as the spokesman for George. In the beginning, we never saw George, only Henry. Why? I found that silly.

Because it was said by Lionel that his father would never step foot in a White man's House. So that's why viewers always saw Henry instead of George. But I see what you are saying, if that was really true Louise could have went to the Bunkers without Henry.-lol But that's why Henry was always there because George didn't want to go in Archie's House. In Real Life, They were searching for a actor to play George Jefferson from 1971-73 because I guess they were able to see Mel Stewart wasn't going to cut it as Louise husband.

Henry was pointless. They should've had Louise come alone without him. He was so pointless, that he wasn't added to the cast of the spinoff, nor did he make any guest appearances if I'm not mistaken.

No he never made any guest apperances on the Jeffersons, he was just referred to.

I assumed because when they first wrote the Henry character, they weren't sure if the Jeffersons would last on the show. Then they cast a George when they decided to go that route.

WRONG!!!. It was because they were looking for the right guy to play George Jefferson. When AITF premeired in 1971, they still hadn't found him. It took 2 years. 71-73
