I feel the same way about all my favorite shows: it's a shame they ended. I've never seen Golden Palace, but it's obvious they wanted a spinnoff because the GG were so popular. It's a shame the show had to end, because in my opinion the acting got better and better. Dorothy and Sophias sarcastic comments and sophias sicily stories, roses and blanches stories (st olaf and sex, respectively, lol). I wish it would have ran a little longer

Yeah, me too. It probably wouldn't have ended quite so soon if Bea Arthur hadn't wanted to leave the show.

The key to having an all around success show is to end it while it's still popular. Several shows just keep going and going and going until the public and critics finally have to practically FORCE them off the air (examples, "The Brady Bunch" and "Rugrats").
I think the producers were smart to end the show before it started flopping. |
