Default Whatever happened to this show?

What ever happened to the show "Rags to Riches" about the foster/adopted kids that all sang? I barely remember the show, but wasnt it a spin off of something or a short lived series?

Without looking it up, the only thing I remember is that Tisha Campbell was on the show. I don't know if it was a spinoff. It aired from March 1987 to September 1988.

I don't think it was a spinoff series.

The only thing I remember is the singing and dancing.
And the singing and singing and singing...

I used to watch this with my sis back in the day... we liked it... set in the 50's. There's a pilot movie which you can buy off Amazon and Ebay... they go for very high prices though!

Rags To Riches

9 March 1987 - 15 january 1988; 3 July 1988 - 11 Septemberr 1988 NBC

An unusual comedy-drama with music, Rags to Riches was set in 1961. It told the tale of a swinging millionaire who, eager to impress a client, took in a group of orphaned girls. The cast included Joseph Bologna as wealthy Nick Foley; Kimiko Gelman as Rose, the Asian girl; Tisha Campbell as marva, the black girl; Bridget Michele as Diane, the blonde girl; Blanca DeGarr as Patti, the tomboy; Heidi Zigler as Mickey, the little one; and Douglas Seale as Nick's British butler, John Clapper. Most episodes featured elaborate musical numbers, with contemporary lyrics added to classic sixties rock melodies.

Maybe I should sell my copy. I got it from Avon several years ago. They sell videos sometimes in their brochures.

I really liked Rags to Riches as a kid. Rose was my favorite. I remember the storylines revolving around the girls trying to fit into their new home and win over Nick. It seems like such a weird plot now - a single man bringing home a boatload of girls. I Love The 80s!
