I remember those good old days...gotta love that virus-free first hour after getting a brand new computer or formatting it.

it STILL would be a good idea to run another scan with one of the other programs, rather than relying on Spybot alone; a lot of the recent spyware is specifically being designed to avoid detection by Spybot or AdAware....

oh , i didn't rely on spybot alone... i never rely on it alone, cause it never gets rid of PeopleOnPage. I did a virus scan with Maccaffe (sp?) as well. Then I did spyBot. should i run something else?

it wouldn't hurt to try AdAware (completely free) or , if you use XP, you could try the MS Antispyware (also completely free) - the home page for the prog is - http://www.microsoft.com/athome/secu...e/default.mspx

you might not need to do it, but it certainly won't hurt

I got rid of a TON of spyware the other night... I'm surprised this computer hasn't packed it's bags and left.

actually, the most current statistics show that it takes an average of 15 minutes from the time you first connect to the internet with a new computer to become infected with spyware or viruses....
