for those who have been to a job interview, what do you say when they ask "So, tell me about yourself..."
I find that question EXTREMELY hard to answer |

lol...I usually just told about my college and major and things. I don't think I mentioned hobbies or anything like that. Maybe what your goals in a career are.
I didn't really say much. |

Yeah - that's all you need to tell them. What education you have, what you're currently doing and what you plan to do. You can even mention hobbies if it might relate to the job. Best thing I've found is to try to relax as much as possible (they sometimes watch body language). Be yourself (even if you are a bitch like me - heehee) and a little bit of humor helps. Good Luck! What kind of work are you looking for - permanent or something for the summer? |

Cool. Wish I could go back and do something like that even. I'm having a tough time cuz I live in a rural area and am sick of commuting. I'm over qualified for positions in the local area and under qualified for the higher paying ones in the city now (don't have a degree).
Also considering a whole career change. Good luck on your hunt - the world's your oyster right now! And as I say, if its something where you're going to be working with people and/or the public a lot, they like to see outgoing, friendly, humorous personalities that aren't nervous (not always easy to pull off in an interview, but you'll find after a couple you can relax more). |

There ya go!!
Its true - very tough out there these days - even with degrees. More and more employers are looking for someone with a little something extra - an edge - and quite often its simply your personality. Glad to hear it worked for you Dawson! |
