Question So I guess we will know by next week...or will we??

I guess we will know by next week whether or not the show has been renewed, because Johnathan Prince said he had taped 2 season endings for season 3, one for if the show was renewed for a 4th season, and the other if it wasn't. So whichever version will air on the 30th, I guess that's how we'll know right? Or, as someone suggested, they may keep us hanging until much later down the road.

My only fear is that if they do decide to cancel the show, and air the episode originally intended to air if the show was to be renenwed, then we will never get to see how Jonathan Prince wanted to end the show (under the circumstances of course.)

Do you guys think this would be an accurate indication?

the finale is called "it's my life" .. there are two versions, not two completely different episodes. the finale version will have a special scene that wraps up the show.

I thought that there were two different versions of the finale, one that Jonathan Prince hoped would never air, which would be if AD wasn't to be renewed for another season.

Does anybody know more about this?

LuV2Dreem?
ADfan?
Brent88?
Newsie?

I believe that only the ending scene is different. If there's still a chance that it'll be picked up, the cliffhanger-type one will air but if it's announced beforehand that it's gonna be cancelled, the finale one will air. My guess is that even if it isn't announced and they air the cliffhanger one but then it is cancelled, that the other ending will show up on a DVD sometime or something.

They will actually give you a cliffhanger and than a few months later it's cancelled. It happened with Popular a few years back and recently North Shore. Now us Popular and North Shore fans have no clue what happen with the characters on the show.

If Ad is cancelled I really hope we aren't left wondering what will go on with the characters cancellation can be really annoying at first but it's even more annoying when you are left wondering what happen with the characters.

But don't get me wrong ia m not hoping for any cancellation of Ad just explaining a few things..Mel

Thank you both for clarifying that for me, and a special thanks to newsie.

I was confused for a second there, and I apologize if I confused anyone else along with me.

I too recall Popular and it's horrible ending. We were completely left hanging and never did know what happened to our favorite characters, except for Brooke, who they supposedly killed.

Anyway, thanks again for clarifying that and sorry if I confused anyone!

Wow, so we may actually have somewhat of a clue by next week Wed. The finale epis. is airing next wed. right? I do agree that there is no forsure way to know until next season. But if we see a cliffhanger then it gives us a little more of a hopeful summer off.

This is what the current issue of TV Guide says:

Season Finale

American Dreams

NBC hasn't yet decided on Dreams future, so this third-season finale could be a series-ender. In it, Meg has her own decision to make; stay in Philly or leave with Chris.

Ugh...I do not like Chris one bit. He is creepy looking.

As you can see, I'm impatient, lol So I want to find out as soon as possible whether or not the show will live on. I don't want them to drag it out over the summer or whatnot. I hate waiting and not knowing the show's fate, but we have to stay opptimistic!
