Iowa Girl Buys Prom Date For $29.95

LA PORTE CITY, Iowa -- Stu Hemesath is earning nearly $30 -- as a prom date.

The Union High School senior from La Porte City, Iowa, auctioned himself off as a date on eBay. Rachel Kay is shelling out $29.95 to have Stu escort her to the prom.

The Cedar Falls student said she didn't think she would actually win the auction. Rachel said she just entered a bid to make her ex-boyfriend jealous.

Stu thinks his date will be getting a lot for her money. He said he's popular and a wrestler. Stu added that girls tell him he's pretty hot.
