'Committed' Star May Move to CBS Drama
(Monday, March 21 10:06 AM) LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) "Committed" star Jennifer Finnigan may be making alternative plans in case her NBC midseason comedy doesn't return for a second season. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Finnigan has been cast in "American Crime," a new CBS drama from super-producer Jerry Bruckheimer. Although her status with the new show would be described as a "guest star" role, Finnigan appears set to play the lead in the legal drama, which focuses on a female prosecutor who has to balance her court duties with her responsibilities as a new mother. The linguistic distinction is based on Finnigan's commitment -- pun probably intended -- to "Committed." That quirky NBC comedy received only tepid critical support and its average viewership was only 6.8 million fans per week, but the network still has the option of retaining it in some way for next season, presumably maintaining some grip on Finnigan until a final choice is made. Winner of three Daytime Emmys for her performance as Bridget Forrester on CBS' "The Bold and the Beautiful," Finnigan also had a recurring role on NBC's "Crossing Jordan" before shifting to comedy for "Committed." |

Yeah, this is pretty much proof "Committed" is dead.
