Cabaret singer Bobby Short, who was a fixture at New York's Cafe Carlyle, died of luekemia at 80.

He was a favorite performer of Woody Allen (he appeared in one of Allen's movies), and he was also known for his lively renditions of Cole Porter songs.

Bobby also made guest appearances on In The Heat Of The Night and 7th Heaven.

He did a guest star role back in 94 or 95 on "In The Heat Of The Night".

What really made him famous was the commercial he did for Charlie perfume. back in the day if your name was Charlie you got a rendition of that song.
