Default We need to get this show on DVD!

It's one of the most funniest TV shows in American TV history! It deserves to be on DVD. What should it come out as? Since it only lasted 2 seasons, I say they should package it and sell it as, Car 54, Where Are You? - The Complete Series.

Wouldn't that be neat!

Hey Fred Gwynne Fan! Nice to see ya on the boards! Stop on over to the Munsters section if you like.

I like sitcomsonline better than tv land, because here, we get to have avatars, signitures, upload files and music, and do all sorts of neat things here!

Anything's better than TVL. There are actually people here. And they TALK!
At least you can edit a post here unlike TVL as in "professor" of terpsichore.
I meant "doctor" but I can't change it.

It is one of the funniest shows I've ever seen. I caught it back in 80's on Nick at Nite and couldn't stop watching it. Then they took it off and I haven't been able to find it anywhere.

Releasing Car 54 as a Complete First Season, could spell the end for anymore DVD releases. Because a lot of people don't remember the show, and it doesn't have as near as big a fanbase as I Love Lucy and Dick Van Dyke. So what I think would be best, would be for it to come out as a Complete Series.

I remember watching this show back when it was on Nick at Nite in the 80's and it was Great! Nice to see F. Gwynn and Al Lewis before Munsters began. Maybe they'll bring it out soon!

Yes, that would be excellent. 'Car 54' is one of my most favorite shows.
I also used to watch the show on Nick at Nite whenever it was on.
Great cast, great writers, and lots of fun!

This is another one of those funny classic shows. I went to Arizona, and my family had Nick, and I got to see it. I fell in love since two of my characters from my all time favorite show were in it. They even had a commercial on Nick@Night where Fred Gwynne's face turned into Herman Munster. To help get Munster fans to watch the show.

Anyway my luck I returned to NYC and a year later got cable, but they already took the show off. It came back on a New York channel, celebrating TV shows that were about the five boroughs. So I got to see it for many years on that channel, until the channel became a 24 hour news station.

One episodes opening they are going down a street that is a hill and you can tell it's a street named Fordham Road. That's so awesome to see they used the Bronx for backdrops. Not like most NYC shows which are filmed in California.

Car 54 on DVD please!

Default VIACOM/PARAMOUNT...

...has the rights to the series (when they acquired the Republic Pictures library, as THEY got the show from the old NTA library who owned the "old" NBC Films catalog). Contact THEM to see it revived on DVD!

Default Look, Republic Pictures Home Video...

...issued a set of "CAR 54" VHS tapes (two an episode, in chronological order) in 1990-'91. They though there was a audience for those then....now, someone has to convince VIACOM/PARAMOUNT that the audience is STILL THERE for a DVD set of the same episodes!!!!!!
