Ever been in a earthquake?

I was in the 1964 earthquake in Alaska that was 9.2,but i was just a baby.
\Then in the 90's there had been a few minor onews that shook the house a little, still scary.
2003 about 12 mid night I was woken up by one it shook my apartment really good that scared me alot. So Alaska is a earthquake kind of state. They said the next one will be around 9.9,but I hope it's a long timefor that one.

Yes. Several. Minor damage only, for the most part.

Except that my nephew had to evacuate his red-tagged apartment back in 1994. A few of us were in his place gathering his belongings before he was no longer allowed in, when the largest of the aftershocks occurred. That was scary. The whole building swayed, and looked like it was about to fold like a collapsed box.

But no one I know has ever been hurt in an earthquake, that I know of anyway.

Los Angeles is definitely earthquake territory, as is Alaska.

Nope. I've been through a lot of tornados though.

I slept through one here back in 2003... 4.9, it was about 150 miles north of here though. I don't feel so bad because most people who were asleep didn't feel it(it hit at 4:30am).

Yes, a VERY small one. I think it was last year. I was in the house and suddenly felt this weird shaking. At the time I thought it was ghosts or some weird thing doing something to the house, but I later found out it was an earthquake. It lasted like less than 5 seconds. It was weird because we NEVER get earthquakes in WI!

There was a small minor earthquake here like 1 or 2 years ago. I was laying in the bed one afternoon all bored, then I feel all shaky for a few seconds. I was puzzled thinking something happened outside, but then later in the 5 o'clock news, they were reporting the earthquake and such.

There was a small earthquake here last year in the middle of the night. I slept through it. But everyone else I know felt it.

Well, considering that I live 3.8 miles from the epicenter of the 1994 Northridge earthquake, I would have to say yes. There were hundreds of aftershocks bigger than 2.0 for weeks after the main (6.7) event. It was not fun.

BTW, the 1964 Alaskan earthquake had a Moment Magnitude of 9.2.
