Default Most underated sitcom?

What do you think is the most underated sitcom? I've never watched this while it was on, but I've gotten hooked on reruns of Spin City. I know they won awards, but I don't remember them ever getting great ratings.

MyHyena you seem like my kinda person! Are you hooked on the Michael J. Fox years or the Charlie Sheen years? (I only like the MJF years )

I reckon FamilyTies is kinda underrated THESE DAYS. If I ever mentioned it to one of my friend these days they wouldn't know what the hell I was talking about. They screwed up this "coulda been classic" by bringing it back into syndication too early.

I agree. Tony Randall was a comedic GENIUS. Me and my mom love him. The other guy was really good too but I can't remember his name .

Yeah, I prefer the MJF years too. Sheen wasn't bad, but it seemed like he tried to step into the identical character that MJF portrayed. Even some of his phrases and mannerisms were the same. Like the writers had written for a couple of seasons ahead when MJF had to leave. I think Sheen should have developed a totally different character.

Chico and the Man is another series that--like Hogan's Heroes--is in hindsight being underrated cuz of the personal failings of its star, in this case Freddie Prinze. Yes, he became depressed once fame hit (or was possibly already bipolar but undiagnosed), which led to psychotherapy...which led to prescription drugs...which led to drug abuse...which all led to suicide. But that doesn't detract from his talent or that of his costar, Jack Albertson, or that of any of the regulars or guest stars or staff.

The show was unique for its portrayal of different kinds of bigotry (and resolutions to them) than the white-against-black or conservative vs. liberal bigotry that were finally being openly discussed on All in the Family. An old white man took in a young Chicano and together they overcame the "generation gap", as well as the old man's bias against Hispanics.

I agree that Hogan's Heroes is unjustly slam by the PC Brigade who all too often have never seen a single episode, but wasn't considered an underrated sitcom back then. It did well in the ratings, while Bob Crane was nominated twice for an Emmy for his Col. Hogan character, Werner Klemperer was nominated five times, winning twice for his Col. Klink character and the first season is now avalaible on DVD.

I think Wings is so commonly mentioned as an underrated series that it actually probably gets rated fairly

Shows I feel are genuinely underrated that lasted two or more seasons:
Gimme A Break (I wish we'd see a DVD release for this show. I know it's kinda eerie to watch now since both Nell Carter and Dolph Sweet are no longer with us, but it was a great sitcom that I'd love to revisit)
227
One Day At A Time (it was a big show in it's day but these days it is so forgotten)
Popular (Mary Cherry should've been a breakout character in the Fonz/Mr. T vein)
Roswell (could've easily rivalled Buffy if it had a longer run. The show was so good but viewers didn't flock to it, so it was cancelled TWICE)

Shows that are either low rated or rarely seen and are Good shows are to me "underrated". With that said:

Wings
Perfect Strangers
Chico and the Man
The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis
Less Than Perfect
Andy Richter Controls the Universe (Critics loved it, but hardly anyone watched)
Make Room for Daddy (In it's afterlife. Apparently it was popular in it's day)
The Odd Couple
The Donna Reed Show
