Default Pop, Soda, or Coke?

Depending on where you live, you may call the little fizzy stuff sold in cans, plastic bottles, and occasionally glass bottles, as soda, or pop, or the ever confusing "coke". ("Yes, I'd like a coke" "But sir, we serve Pepsi products here" "I know...I said I wanted a coke, how hard is that to understand").

Which do YOU call it, and where are you from? Also, if you refer to it as something else entirely, choose other and specify "what"....those three are the most common ones, so....

Myself: Soda - Resident of Southern KY. Practically everyone else here says "coke" or "pop"

I have always called it soda. It annoys the heck out of me when people say "pop". I live in SE Wisconsin and we all say soda, but way up north in the state I know a lot of people say pop.

This is a nice little map, and it breaks down where each term is used most often.

Pop, but everybody else around me calls it coke, even if it isn't a coke.

In my area, it depends on who you ask, because I've heard all three of those terms used interchangably, but I personally, use the term soda.

I call it Pop or Soda...Unless it's Coca Cola which is the only Cola I drink I call it Coke.

I used to think I was one of the few around here to call it "pop" but after looking at that map 80 to 100% of the people in southern Michigan call it "Pop".

Soda, I think. Coke if it's Coca-Cola. Never pop.
