Usually these stories don't phase me albeit disturbing at times. But one of the creepiest things I've seen is today when they showed an actual picture of the man's face that was found in that trunk. How disturbing! It makes me wonder why it was ok to show his face him being deceased but they couldn't show us the actual face of that man who committed suicide in the church by swallowing cyanide. That would have been just as crucial since they were trying to identify both of them. Unless the FCC has loosened up its regulations since then. Any thoughts?

I agree crystaldawn.
Since they muck up a lot of the segments - why didn't they just delete that photo and show the one of him when he was alive (since the case was solved anyway)? BTW, has there ever been any news about the gentleman/cyanide/church story? |

Thats a good question, I wonder if he was ever identified. I haven't heard of any update and it would be one of harder ones to research online since we don't have a name, only the name of the church he died in.

The church suicide segment was shown on NBC, while the steamer trunk corpse segment was originally aired on Lifetime. However, I recall that when the show aired the Jeffrey Digman case on NBC, they actually showed a photo of Digman's corpse, though not a close-up shot. |

I saw the segment too. Woah...it was really disturbing. However, I'm glad he was identified. I had originally looked away from the screen, but then thought, "It can't be that bad if they're showing it," and it totally was that bad! It just made me very sad for the man.
The thing with Cold Case Files, American Justice, etc is that they often times distort the photo in some way by showing it in black and white, or showing the body, but not the face. But there have been times when they showed the face up close with eyes open. Those are the most disturbing to me. |

I remember watching it back when it first aired on Lifetime... I think I had nightmares for a week.
