I'm sure this has been done before, but what the heck. With Lifetime back to showing the newer, more boring episodes, how about a list of "Cases I never want to see again?"
Now, I apologize to anyone directly involved in these cases. I have nothing against them personally, it's just that I'm sick of seeing them three times a month. Feel free to comment or definitely add to this list. The cloning of Dolly the sheep Chupacabras The couple who found a pile of money in their backyard Goo Rain Gurden Light Bee stings curing paralysis Elvis' twin The Caddy Saurus of Cadburro(sp?) Bay Who Killed Superman? Heidi Wyrick/Mr. Gordy Albert DeSalvo/Boston Strangler Greg Webb murders Anna Anton Ira Einhorn kills Holly Maddux Spontaneous Human Combustion Any story about a psychic reading (James Van Praagh, George Anderson) Chocolates that are aphrodiasics African fertility statues Edward Harold Bell kills Larry Dickens The Cokeville Wyoming school bombing/miracle Jay Durham gets hit by a semi while riding his motorcycle Gilbert Ortiz drinks a toxic milkshake And the 3 that I personally NEVER want to see again.... Resurrection Mary The Beatrice, Nebraska exploding church miracle "Dr." Michael Swango kills his patients |

You pretty much hit the nail on the head there, chief.
Two I would add to your list though: The story about the striper who was found murdered in her apartment. The murder was reported by a call to 911, and the police could not ascertain whether the caller was the killer, or a bystander. The story about the cab driver who was forced to rob a bank with a fake bomb by a man wearing a turban. Justin |

Another one I'm sick of (even though it's incredibly sad) is the Annie Laurie Herrin kidnapping. She was the wife of the man who ran the "School Pictures" business, and the husband had to mail out checks to former employees as ransom. A sad story, but there's either the whole segment or an update on it at least twice a month. |

No offence to those who have been reunited with a loved ones, but the aura of Unsolved Mysteries revolves around, Bizarre Murders, Legends, Ghosts, UFO's, Dissapearances....etc.
I feel that lost loves is not part of it, because its not part of the show's creepiness. The only acception to this should be updates of missing people cases, but I really just change the channel when its someone who wants to meet up with their "high school sweetheart" or a "baby's dad." |
