RareTVonDVD? Is that really you? This doesn't sound like you:

The video quality is identical. The 35 DVD set uses full D1 while the 22 DVD set uses half D1.

Seeing as how in an earlier post you said this:

the the 4-hour and 6-hour speeds are unwatchable

Have you had a massive change of heart regarding what you consider to be good quality? As I understand it, XP, SP and FR recording up to 2.5 hours/disc correspond to full D1 while LP and EP correspond to 1/2 D1. Is that wrong?

The 35 disc set is made up of uncut episodes (except 2) and I think the 22 disc set is chopped up versions. Perhaps someone can correct me on that, but there's one reason to go for the 35 disc set, regardless of D1s.

If I had the accurate facts, I wouldn't have had to ask you the question in the first place, would I? I went to YOU to get the accurate facts. I'm only sorry that you were unwilling to supply them.

I didn't leave out bitrate at all. I didn't take up a conversation or debate about video quality with you, I only asked you a question regarding where the time/disc cut-off is between D1 and 1/2D1.

If you don't want to answer the question, that's your perogative. You are free to ignore it if you choose. But there's no need to get all upset just because I asked you.

Your original post in this thread seems to me to be in conflict with an earlier post and with the info on your site where you define in great detail what you consider to be "good quality". You say there that DVDs made on a standalone DVD recorder "M*U*S*T be recorded at XP [1 hour] or SP [2 hour] speed".

Yet here you say that the 22 disc Get Smart set, which is worse than SP mode, is "identical" to SP mode. If it is "identical" then why don't you consider this recording mode, FR150 or whatever it is, "good quality" in your own definition? No need to answer that, I don't really care. It's just the inconsistency that threw me and that's why I was so shocked to see your initial response here and asked "is this really you"? Sorry if that question offended you.

D1, 1/2 D1, whatever the bitrate is, I still think you'll like the discs I sent you! I may not know all the technicals, but I know what looks good :-)
