Default Give Me Your Gilmore Girls Story Ideas!

Hey Gilmore Fans, TJL here.
For those of you who know, I'm a wannabe TV writer, and I enjoy writitng TV scripts from time to time. A while back I posted a That 70's Show script I wrote here on Sitcoms Online.

Anyway, I was kicking around the idea of wrtiting a Gilmore Girls "spec" script, and I was wondering if you can help me.
If you have any ideas for a story, feel free to post.

However, there are some rules to wrtiting a "Spec" script for an existing TV show:

- You can't do a storyline that the writers are probably going to do eventually or will greatly alter the plot of the series. In other words, it can't be the Luke/Lorelai wedding episode, Rory gets kicked out of Yale, etc. No cliffhanging plots! Richard can't be put in a coma!

- No new characters or sets, keep it in Stars Hollow. Spec scripts are supposed to show how well a writer can write for the existing characters in thier regular settings. Also, sets and location shooting cost money, and networks are cheap.

So those are the rules. If you have any story ideas - something you think would be funny, let me know.

Yeah, I'm afraid so. I'm sure the folks in charge already have some things planned out for the long term- but that's not saying we can't do something involving their relationship. The best thing to do would be to keep things light.

Keep the ideas coming.

maybe Rachel coming back and finding out Luke and Loreli were in a relationship and she kind of getting jealous, cause she figured Luke would always be hers to fall back on

I like it!! Begin the writing please.........

I like the idea of Rachel coming back. Lorelai certainly would have a reason to feel threatened, and of course she'll drive Luke crazy by telling him how she's not threatened by the thought of Rachel coming by for a visit.
Good idea!

Okay, that's ONE plotline. as you know, a typical Gilmore Girls episode has a few stories going on at once.

You want a byline, you've got to earn it missy!

Now, now, you just can't use old ideas over and over you know.

This isn't the Simpsons.

Lets' see. . .

-We got Rachel coming back, that takes care of L&L
-Rory fails her first class, maybe???? Most things w/ Logan are probably all ready in the works.... maybe Rory sees Marty out w/ another girl and finds herself jealous and doesn't know why....???

Maybe something with Lane and Rory. They really don't spend much time together...

Good idea!

Not to totally dispose of the idea, but Rachel left so that Luke COULD be with Lorelai. Why would she come back now? I'm not trying to knock your idea Ms.Orange, I'm just making a point.
