I have no friends. I have people who let me hang out with them and stuff but I don't think anyone really likes me. And if they do, they have a funny way of showing it. I wish I knew what I did that makes me thought of as "weird" cuz once people think that about you, they think they can say whatever they want to you. My friends are always calling me names and reinforcing my own bad feelings about myself. I don't know why I even tell them anymore cuz even when I desperately need someone to disagree with me they just say they're sick of hearing me whine about the same problems. But the problems don't go away. I'm so painfully shy and I've tried to stop but I just can't seem to relax. I feel like everyone's always watching me and judging me, when I know that in reality they don't even notice I'm there. I know nobody wants to talk to me. I'm not interesting or pretty or even all that smart. I'm not good at anything and I don't have any real hobbies. I feel so completely worthless. And I'm always left out of everything. The people at my school have all known each other since like 2nd grade. I just started with them this year. I see other people who have managed to break into that circle and make friends but I could never do that. I don't know what's wrong with me.
I'm really sorry about this but I had to vent and nobody I know wants to listen. |

The first thing you need to do is stop being so negative about yourself. Seriously.
That's a big turn-off to alot of people. Nobody wants to be around someone who's negative all the time. Start doing things for you! And don't worry about pleasing your friends who call you names, they don't sound like they are that great of friends anyway if they do that. Do things that will make you feel better and in more control of your life. They don't have to be big things right off. Just start by going for bike rides or taking walks; these can have relaxing effects and they are good for you and your physical and mental health. Do those things for you, nobody else. |

*raises hand* Apparently all my friends didn't like me for me, so they got all snotty and dumped me and never told me why. They can all rot in hell for all I care anymore.
I *think* (he's confusing as hell to figure out) I have one offline friend. I know I'm a natural loner, but still... |

You're not alone in feeling that way at all. I'm not like that now, since I'm not in school anymore (I'm 21), but back in jr. high I was painfully shy just like you.
How old are you anyway? Well, apparently when I was in jr. high when you're that age, if you're shy it's a BAD thing. I would try to hang around other kids but since I never talked to anyone, they would get really rude. It really hurt a lot, because I am (or was) a very nice person but I was just VERY shy. Things got a lot better in high school. I talked to more people and made more friends. Are you in any kind of clubs or activities. I've found that when I'm around people who have a common interest as me, I'm less shy. Actually, I tend to talk A LOT when I'm around people like that. |

You're definetly not alone,so dont despair.I have a few friends, but I'm always wondering if they really like me,and I drive myself crazy wondering what they see in me.But I'd say I have more acquaintances than friends, and I dont think i really have a true best friend who I could trust with my life.

Yep, that's happening to me right now, actually. Except I have known my "friends" for a long time. Basically, everyone is nice to me and talks to me at school and what not, but when the weekends come around, everyone forgets I exist.

I give up on people. If they want to talk to me, fine. If not, fine. I really don't care. I'm used to being by myself, and actually, it's not as bad as everyone thinks.

I completetly agree. I'd rather be alone than with other people. I like time to myself. I mean, I don't mind being around others but I really do need time to myself. I've also found that I don't get into as much trouble as the people who are constantly surrounded by 850,000 other people every minute of their lives. |

I feel your pain. That's exactly how I think about myself. I hear someone in the hall laughing, I think it's at me. Someone whispering? It's about me. If I hear my name called...it must be to someone else. I tell my friends my problems and they don't believe me because I'm so good at hiding it. They mean well...but they don't understand. It sucks, and I honestly can't tell you what to do because I havn't gotten through it myself yet.
I've gotten dumped by friends in the past, made new ones...I don't know, just be yourself. There's nothing wrong with anyone. There's always some people out there like you. If other people don't like who you are, **** them. Tell them to suck your non existant balls into two pieces and swallow them. |

Stop judging yourself, start judging them. Do they really have the qualities you want in a friend? Is it really worth dragging your self esteem in the mud because they want to be entertained? Your just as much a person as the next, maybe even more! Do you knock people down just to get a false sense of superiority? Somehow I doubt that. You need to worry about you, not them. They obviously have self esteem problems of their own if they are making fun of you. See them for who they REALLY are, and what you don't want to become. You will find that you have more self esteem than you thought possible! And I truly believe once you do that, people tend to take another look at you! Just make sure they are worthy of YOUR friendship!
