Today was the first time I saw the episode where Richie is a bunny in the school play and Rob has to miss it. What a lame episode. Very sub par the usual excellent DVD quality. The best scene was the office/push ups routine.

I agree that 'Washington Vs. the Bunny' is not the best DVD episode. It's not my favorite, but it's not my least favorite... if you understand that.
I sort of like when Rob has the dream where he's a puppet, and breaks Ritchie's arm, and then the bunnys all fall on him. Hahahaha.... And who can forget Mel with his scissors? Hahaha. |

I like the little speech he gives on the airplane about how a man has to do what a man has to do and all the guys on the plane clap! That always makes me laugh!

I didn't like it, myself. I think the book said that it is one of the weakest episodes.

I agree that it is indeed one of the weaker Van Dyke Show entries (although I still like every episode due to the first-rate cast). Another weak effort (IMHO) is "The Return Of Edwin Carp". I rarely re-visit that episode -- I think mainly due to the fact it's much more of a "Formula" type episode, and was written SOLELY to showcase the old-time radio performers.
That ep. doesn't have the standard and likeable qualities that nearly all other DvDS eps. contain (IMO anyway). I think there are just TOO MANY "guests" trying to fit into the script; which was, indeed, probably a bit difficult for Carl Reiner (et al) to manage for that program. Anyway, re. the "Bunny" episode -- it's still hard not to like it for the following very good-looking reason (as the ever-popular Sawgrass man has previously pointed out). ........... |
