Default I don't think the Cole Brown character was needed on the show because when he

was missing in the episode of Martin and Gina's Wedding, I didn;t even think about him-LOL That's one sign right there that he was needed

If you notice in the beginning of the series, Cole seemed more closer to Martin than Tommy (Cole and Martin also lived in the same building as well, don't forget). But when Martin and Gina got married, Cole's role became lesser, and his character became more dumber and got more ridiculed than before. You can see how about how much they care about the Cole character when they put Carl Payne's name fourth in the order of credits (after Tichina Arnold), where in the first three seasons he was 3rd (behind Martin Lawrence and Tisha Campbell).

I never noticed that before. Good and interesting observation.

This show wouldn't have been successful without Carl Payne & ya'll know it. Solomon i swear you be making some dumb ass statements sometimes. How you figure Carl wasn't needed on Martin? Who cares if he wasn't at Martin & Gina's wedding. It doesn't mean the show didn't need him.

Cole added depth to the show. You needed those dumb characters once in a while.

How you figure Cole wasn't needed on the show? So what if you didn't ask yourself where is Cole on certain episodes. Cole made the show a success. Without him, the show probably wouldn't have been as good. He always cracked me up talkin about big Shirley.

I do think Cole was "less needed" than the others but he was still a big part of the show. Everybody on the show served their part. And if Cole wasn't around, how would we have gotten the line "Cole ... you stoopid!" LOL

I was wondering about season three. I did notice that he was moved back in the credits (maybe that was fourth season). He missed some episodes in the latter part of season three especially the wedding. I was wondering if he was coming back or not. I'm glad he was still with the show at this point. Al is well.
