Talking ALF SEASON 2 PLUS THE MOVIE ALF PROJECT ON DVD

From TV SHOWS ON DVD.COM

There have been some rumors floating around that Lions Gate will release ALF: Season 2 in August. Yup, the rumors are true, at least for now. There's always a chance that an unannounced title will move, but they're targeting that month for a release.

You may recall some problems with syndicated episodes being used for season 1, and we're sorry to report that they will use the syndicated episodes for season 2 as well. This means that every episode will be missing a few minutes of footage from the original broadcast version of the episode. Lions Gate explains that the syndicated episodes were in better condition, so they decided to release those instead of the poorer quality broadcast versions. This news will undoubtedly upset fans who had hope that Lions Gate would release the original episodes for season 2.

Here's some happier ALF news: Video Service Corp, the Canadian company that previously released The ALF Files (which contained uncut episodes), will be putting out Project: ALF on April 12. While this is a Canadian release, Amazon.com is stocking it ($10.49), and releasing it a week earlier than in Canada. Every set will come with a free ALF keychain!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

I Am SO estatic that season 2 is coming out EVEN WITH the episodes are cut 2 minutes in length. I encourage everyone to order season 2 when it comes out, so what, who cares if 2 minutes is missing, would you rather NEVER see a DVD release. I Thought so. Please keep negative comments to yourself as well as Death threat letters to lions gate, petitions and everything else. You wanted more ALF well you got it. Better start buying ALF cause it is almost certain that Lions Gate has kept ALF and will probably release all four seasons.

I can't wait to also buy the ALF Project Movie, this will be awesome. For some of you, you probably won't buy it because there probably won't be enough quality audio/video because your so picky when something gets released. (REFERRING TO THE NEGATIVE COMMENTS ON ALF SEASON ONE AND TWO).

BUY ALF!!!!!!!!

I'm really excited for Project ALF - despite some criticisms it's a fun family movie and does a good job of showing what happened to ALF and also proved he could be funny without the Tanners and sitcom format. The keychain sounds like a nice touch, will be good to see if there are also any other extras. The commentary on the last VSC release "ALF Files" was superb.

I will divinity purchase Project: ALF on DVD. As for ALF - Season 2, I will not be purchasing that because of syndication episodes.

I always wondered why the episodes seemed so shirt on season 1 dvd. I never realised there was missing footage from them. Does the syndication thing also explain why the order of episodes on the DVD was mixed up?

Meanwhile, great news about Season 2 - any word on features? It'd be great to see some interviews with the cast now, looking back etc.

ALF - Season 2 will be missing a few minutes of each episode just like the ALF - Season 1 set. Once again Lions Gate will be using syndication episodes instead of the original uncut episodes.

Exclamation NEW INFO

Lions Gate has made the artwork for the second season of ALF available to us. Here's the text from the back of the box:

"Hey, I'm a people alien!" ALF: Season Two" comes crash landing with even more antics and household chaos! Being banished to the garage for his bad behavior is insulting enough...but how do you cure a case of the dreaded Melmacian hiccpus? This furry extraterrestrial has earned a place in the Tanners' home and in the hearts of millions. Catch this complete second season starring the funniest cosmic comedian ever!

The specs include a newly remastered Full Frame (1.33:1) picture (using the syndicated masters); a 2.0 Dolby Surround audio track; interactive menus hosted by ALF; ALF's Animated Adventures episode: "Phantom Pilot" and ALFTales episode: "Robin Hood." We don't have a date nailed down, but season 2 will be out in August.

I was upset when there was cut episodes and I decided not to buy it but I changed my mind since I miss watching Alf and I do realize that who cares if there is missing 2 minutes of footage, at least it came out on DVD, I'm going to buy Seasons 1 and 2 sometime soon.
