Default White People Buy Rap Music More Than Blacks

I know this news shock you white people on here cause a lot of ya'll bash rap music saying it sucks when you know nothin about it cause ya'll don't even listen to it. Statistics show that white people buy rap albums more than blacks which shocks me. White people also go to rap concerts more than blacks. Blacks buy bootleg rap music cause most blacks can't afford to buy it. Back in the day, blacks used to buy it when rap first came on the scene. Now that rap sucks so bad, i guess that's why a lot of blacks don't buy it. I don't buy rap cd's anymore myself but i used to. Rap cd's i get now are bootlegged cause i'm tired of the wack rappers that are coming out now.

Heck, I already knew that! They're only doing it to get back at their Baby Boomer rock-and-roll-lovin' parents! Other white kids are getting into big band music of their grandparents' day. Now there's a really good way to get back at big-band-hatin' Boomers!

Well that was one of the most stereotypical things I've ever seen.

Meaning that white people are stupid hense them buying rap albums? I don't think it's fair to confine that stupidity just to white people.

Rap is dominate in the mainstream music scene. That's why a lot of people of every race, including white people and black people, buy rap albums.

I think that news should be shocking you worse than it shocks us, because you're the one in the Ice Cube thread who said that all white people do is hate blacks.

Why even bitch about how "biased" people who dislike rap are, how many times have you bashed "white" genres of music? How many times have you lumped everything pop and rock as "wack"?

Do you want racism to end? start with yourself, the way you react only makes things worse, not better. You come across as a bitter and uneducated person, Jrnygirl and Vashti are African-American too, but unlike you, they don't live in this box where everything is either "evil white" or "good black", and they are both well-liked on this forum because they are themselves instead of being all bitter the way you want them to be.

At the time Ice Cube released Death Certificate, he said he was glad white kids were buying rap albums because maybe they'd grow up and change socioeconomic conditions in urban America - even as he was rapping about wanting to violently emasculate white men who dated black women in "Little Horny Devil."

Quite a internal contradiction there! If you date my sister, I'll change you from a rooster to a hen with one shot! Now will you please buy my record?

Oh haven't you heard? It's okay for black people to hate anything white. But if white people say anything about another race, they get attacked.

People (allegedly) buy more rap than rock, but only because it's trendy and makes them "widdit."

I guess I'll stick with REAL music like metal and the blues and be "widdoudit."

AllIWantIsYourClutch, you need to stop generalizing black people. You posted that as though all blacks act like that when in fact few are. If racism is going to stop then simple little posts like yours need to stop. don't judge an entire race of people by the actions of one

Captain ABlairica, yeah rap is music as well as rock. I have the utmost respect for ALL kinds of music whether you choose to like it or not

What she said is 100% true, though. African Americans can make fun of white people all they want and it can mean nothing, but if a white person were to make fun of black people, they would be labeled as a racist. It's a huge double-standard.

yea, I did read on another area on here awhile back, him and another poster were talking about how "wack" all the white people on here are because of that "wack white pop and rock music" (which I honestly would take over 90% of the hip hop out there any time of day), I don't know any white people here who are dumb enough to say the same thing in reverse.

Yeah, okay, rap is music as well as rock. But can rap be TRANSCRIBED in sheet music form like rock and blues?

Your point is well taken but after all of the dubious contributions we white folks have made to popular music - Lawrence Welk, Guy Lombardo, Pat Boone, the Partridge Family, the Osmonds, Phil Collins, Michael Bolton - we sort of deserve to be ridiculed.
