I really don't think the Rather special is going to be a huge ratings draw, but maybe I'm just being overly optimistic. CBS News always brings up the rear in ratings; who wants to watch a retrospective on a ratings loser?

They aren't try to kill American Dreams they are only trying to kill it in people's eyes whom look at that way with their negative belief in this show.Anyway they are only trying to give it so many chances by moving it so it so they don't have to cancel it since it's one of the few family drama's we have. And whom cares about Rather's retirement.I don't .Sorry but he annoys me that Rather's person especially since he needed to make a whole 60 minutes special dedicated to himself..Mel

What.... and you didn't think that Ronald Reagan's 5-day death was excessive?

I'm talking about when they buried Ronald Reagan in the past year. They spent 5 days on it. I was beginning to think that they were burying him with spoons.

You are apparently missing the point. If you read the thread a little more carefully you would've caught on.

When Mel said that Rather dedicated 60 minutes just to recollect the history of his journalism throughout the years I responded by saying, "well, wasn't the way that America carried on about Ronald Reagan's death a little excessive as well?"

Reagan was an American President and American icon.
Rather is a reported who lied about a President.

Okay, now lets get back to talking about American Dreams.

Okay, since everyone is getting a little anxious I think we all need to sit back take a deep breath and think about Will Estes ....Okay, now we can continue complaining about how sucky it is that the show might get cancelled.

Cool

I'm not really one to crush on famous stars from tv shows like Ad OC,OTH etecetra I just sit back and tell myself their cute but never act as if they are mine you know what I'm saying but I can share with you how a dog ran loose on the Major Deegan expressway in NYC yesterday.

I wasn't in the area but I was watching it on the news and though the dog got clipped a couple times by cars.I was cracking up on how everyone was running after him and he'd run in the other direction. The dog is fine though. But it was a funny story.Sorry ran this a bit off but hey! I was thinking about something funny since we all got a bit anxious again..Mel
