Default Chic

Classic group. I like their songs My Forbidden Lover, Le Freak, Good Times, My Feet Keep Dancing, Chic Cheer, Everybody Dance, Dance Dance Dance. Nile Rodgers who played bass guitar in the group also produced some tight songs back in the day for other artists like Diana Ross Upside Down song, Sister Sledge's We Are Family & He's The Greatest Dancer songs.

The best disco band of all time. They were one of few bands that can disco and play the funk. Nile Rodgers was in a zone with that bass.

I like them more after they broke up than when they were together. I was into oldies then. So I guess when they became "oldies' then I like them more!

I've heard all the songs. "I Want Your Love", "Dance, Dance, Dance" and "Good Times". As you probably know, "Good Times" was the song by Chic was sampled into Sugarhill Gang first breakthrough hip-hop record "Rapper's Delight", the rest was history.

I didn't buy that many new records when Chic was popular I bought 60's and early 70's records more. After alot of the popular bands of the day Chic, Bar-Kays, ConFunkShun, Parliament/Funkadelic broke up or stop getting hits. That's when I like them, when they're music became oldies. Sorry.

That was the song before they were used as a sample to Sugarhill Gang's "Rapper's Delight", a hip-hop record that started it all.

Let's take a listen to "Rapper's Delight" and hear what the beat sounded like:

Musicradio77 there was no need to post the lyrics to Rapper's Delight.
