Question Is the show losing its touch?

Recently, I have heard many people say that Friends just isn't funny anymore. I think its as good as it ever was. Opinions?

The Seventh Season was really dissapointing. The show was very solid through the first 6 seasons. The season premiere was kiond of annoying and the show got worse after that. The birthday episode was pathetic. I didn't care for the one where Monica's childhooditems were ruined. The only episode I thought was a very good normal Friends episode was the season finale. The finale was excellent. I hope the show will be back to normal in season 8!

It has declined over the last couple of years. Like every other show, eventually, it ran out of steam.

Though I imagine Monica and Chandler's status as newlyweds might give the show some renewed creativity. Hopefully, anyway...

I think Rachel has become almost as ditzy as Phoebe.

The pairing of Monica and Chandler has really dragged the show down. The key to the show before was the Joey/Chandler connection, but now Chandler is with Monica (easily the weakest and most annoying character on the show) all the time. They're both annoying and unwatchable now.

Break those two up, I say.

I didn´t like the last season, thought it was boring and not funny at all. Rachel´s not funny anymore and the writing was a lot better in the previous seasons. As for Chandler and Monica, I find them to be the only funny characters left along with Ross.

Talking

There were some very, very funny moments during last season's shows. One of my favorites or possibly my all-time favorite was when Monica was helping Joey out with his audition for the nude scene. When his "added skin" fell off when he dropped his pants -- I hadn't laughed that hard in a long time!!! It was priceless!!!

I think Friends will always be funny, but I know what you are saying by it has gotten "less" funny the last two seasons. I think that maybe the writers are showing signs that they want to move on to other things. One of televisions greats (was an NBC exec.) once said "no show will last forever, no matter how good it is - you have your ups and downs, but when it starts going down permanatly, you have to move up to something else." Hopefully Friends will make it one more season though. I don't want it to leave

Thumbs down

Um, yeah I would have to say so. I HATE Chandler and Monica together. The show is supposed to be about friends, not lovers. That said, it didn't bother me at all when Rachel and Ross were together for some reason. I guess because it happened so early in the series.

It's because they are really OLD people in their upper 30's pretending they are in their early 20's (these people are not funny they are really sad to watch, they are acting like people that are at least 15 years younger).

I'd watch if the "Friends" were in their 50s. They make me laugh. If they don't do it for you, turn it off!

I really wish they didnt bring in the baby storyline. If they dont end the series next year then they will have to prolong the ross/rachel storyline because you know they have to have them together.

and to be honest about it, who wants to see a show about single people with kids..... especially when it didnt start out that way.. Ross had a kid from episode one, so that's exceptable, but please rachel having a baby is too much.
