Question Does anyone know......

Does anyone remember the gal (or know how I can contact her) who did the drawing of Freddie of what he would look like today (or a few years back when she did the drawing)? It was a beautiful age progression drawing and I would like to ask her if she might possibly do a drawing for me of a musician who has passed on. She did such beautiful work and when someone brought up the subject of what so-n-so would look like today I thought of her.
Is she still around the boards?

I think that's me...I found that thread back from 2001--I hope the link works!
Not real happy with the drawing--I think Freddie would've been much more handsome than the drawing!

Yep...that's the drawing! Terrific work Karen! Hi by the way! lol.
Anyhoo....would you be interested in doing one of someone else? If not or if you don't have the time I completely understand. I would compensate you for your time and talent though.
Several online frinds and I were discussing a musician who passed away several years ago and the idea was tossed around as to what he would look like today had he lived. The musician is Stevie Ray Vaughan...there are several pieces of beautiful artwork out there dedicated to him but no one has dared to "age" him so to speak.
If you would be intersted in this I have several really good pics of him that you could get an idea from. Let me know.

Thank you Karen for letting me post your picture of Freddie in the "Timeless gift of laughter. Remembering Freddie Prinze in pictures" It is a beautiful tribute to Freddie. Stevie Ray Vaughan is another one I can see as an updated tribute of him too. I remember his last concert at Alpine Valley in East Troy. It was a sad time knowing he died and so close to where we live.

That's right....I had forgotten you live in Wis.
How far is Elkhorn from you? Did you happen to go to the Alpine Valley show?
I can only imagine how sad it must have been to have such a tragedy happen that close to home.
My husband and I are planning a trip to Austin Tx in a few weeks to take in some of the awesome blues clubs and to remember the music Stevie Ray left us. We're both huge fans...and we're looking forward to the trip.

Alpine Valley is about 30 to 45 minutes away from Milwaukee. Yes we attended the show. How he died was such a tradgic loss. Our best friend was such a devoted fan he named one of his son's after Stevie.

Chicosladyfair--I'll try my hand at an "aged" Stevie pic--I sent you a PM!

Hue_Mee--You're very welcome!

PS
Ummm, I'm curious--how did Stevie Ray Vaughan die?

If I remember correctly. Stevie and a few other band members had died from a hellicopter crash. One of the lights on the sky hills at Alpine Valley were out ( why I don't know) also due to weather conditions the visibility was bad and Stevie and crew on board slam into a hillside at Alpine Valley.

The official NTSB report says that the pilot failed to gain enough altitude...and wasn't familiar with the rising terrain. He had only gained an altitude of approx. 100 ft...and the crest of the hill was 150 ft. So...another 50 ft. and we would have still had a world with SRV in it.
Also...the report states that a fog had settled into the valley which was unusual for Aug. but people said the fog shouldn't have been too much of a factor since they could see stars thru it.
Also...the pilot had been sited twice before in the same year for his helicopter failing to meet safety requirements...it had been almost 3 years since his last reported maintenance check.
The crash happened at around 12:50 am on the 27th...but a search wasn't started until after 4 am...a passing plane picked up the helicopter's distress signal and radioed in that there was a downed craft...but by that time it was too late. The rescue crew didn't bring the bodies down till almost 7 that morning.
