Just caught a Larry King Live replay from Friday night, and when asked if she wanted to Cheers to end, she said no. "We were still number 1, we all wanted to kill Ted. You can't do Cheers without Ted, so they ended it. When he pulled the plug we were all upset."

I'm sure the six-figure paycheck played into that, cuz Cheers was running out of gas and needed to end IMO. Ratzenberger had a great line on the E! THS, "I'd laugh hearing Ted and Kirstie complaining of how hard it was to find a live-in chef". Bwahaha!

And asked about who she's close with, she said Rhea, "But the guys...I don't know. I just didn't have a connection with them. Woody and I, we were kindred spirits, but all the other guys, I just wasn't close with."

Don't ya just love when celebs are honest?

I agree with Kirstie, wow, never thought I'd say that.
I understand why they would be upset with Ted for pulling the plug. They were huge, and for all we know the show could've gone on for another decade. Ted got bored and called it quits, costing a lot of jobs -- something they all would've been asured of had the series gone on. I doubt the ratings would have ever slipped terribly, and NBC surely wouldn't get rid of the series.

The show had an easy 3 or 4 years left in it.

I actually think season 11 was one of the better season of Cheers. It was definately the best season in the Rebecca years.

I agree, as was the second half of the tenth season. NBC would've payed Ted anything to stay, but he was set on leaving.

I'm still going with the idea that the show was cut short too early.
