Question for regular watchers - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

My friend and I are having an argument about the show...I watch it semi regularly and he watched a few episodes. So just to make sure, Jon Cryer's character, Alan is not gay, is he? His ex-wife was in the earlier episodes? Clarification and confirmation will help me settle this argument. Thank you.

Alan is NOT gay; although it would have been funny if someone were to watch this show for the first time on Monday (March 7) night.

Ya, when I watched it, it was soooooooo funny..... It was really good, John Cryer did a good job acting gay......

He is not gay, but his ex-wife was or thought she was for awhile on the show.
