Default It Can Be On Nick @ Nite

I dont know why not, cause it is family oriented and aired in the late '80s. I have not seen this show in yeeeeaaaaars. Been a very long time. I miss it being on. It started out the same year I was born- 1986.

It would be nice if it aired but N@N seems to only care about airing shows that have never left syndication since they left the air.

Nick at Nite is almost out of the 80s now, with Murphy Brown, Fresh Prince, and Roseanne dominating their lineups, but Hogan Family was always considered a B level comedy for the 80s along with:

Perfect Strangers
Head of the Class
ALF
Amen
227
Charles in Charge
Dear John
Kate and Allie
Mr. Belvedere
My Two Dads

These shows were just as good as; Cheers, Golden Girls, Designing Women, Newhart, Who's the Boss, etc., but they did not get much of an afterlife in terms of syndication and cable rights.

Exactly. It derserves to be reran somewhere again, I hope. Also, I read somewhere that when TV Land does a salute to the shows that were produced and/or distributed by Warner Bros over the last 50 years or so (it's supposed to happen sometime this year), then there's a possible chance that the Hogan Family might pop up, and if it does, get your VCR's hot!

BTW, it's a shame that N@N only aired eps. of Perfect Strangers from the first four seasons, and I used to have an ep. from a much later ep. when they moved with their girlfriends, too. Same situation with Head of the Class. They only aired certain eps. and not all eps. of that, too! Ex: even though that show jumped when Billy Conolly replaced Howard Hesseman, they only aired one ep. from his season. I also wish to see Mr. Belvedere again, b/c I love that theme song!!! The last time My Two Dads aired was in 2001 on noeother than USA (it also on the same channel during the early to mid '90s as well.)

Those are some pretty good B level shows. They would be considered A level in this decade.

I read when the Hogan Family was in syndication it didn't do very well, that's probably why it's not in syndication now

When Valerie/The Hogan Family aired on Monday nights after Alf, I watched it every week...but I don't recall watching it in syndication much, if ever. BUT, enough time has passed so that the show is new and cool again, to me, anyway. I'd love to see it on N@N, but I don't know how long it would last on there. It would be nice to see the show on TBS or Hallmark or anywhere. It will probably end up on DVD, eventually, and thank goodness for that...

I used too watch The Hogan Family heavily in syndication from 1993 through 1995.

On Milwaukee stations, Channel 18, aired it every weeknight at 5:30 and on Saturdays and Sundays at like 5 or 6. Then Channel 24 took it in the Fall of 1994 through the winter of 1995.

I also know that Channel 50 in Chicago aired it quite regularly from 1992-1995.

I guess it really depended on what market it was airing in. Then again, The Hogan Family takes place in the Chicago area.

Yep. That's true, boechsner. I remember watching it during 1991-94 in New Mexico and watching it again in Chicago from 1993-96. The last time I remember seeing it was on Pax around 1998 or so. But when PAX last aired this show, they cut off the closing credits like they did with many other non-cartoon or certain GS's.

The last time I saw Valerie/The Hogan Family on PAX TV was back in 1999. It went off PAX TV the very end of December 1999. I have not seen it on TV since than. This is one of my favorite TV shows and would like to see the original uncut episodes of Valerie/The Hogan Family get released on DVD in season sets. Is there a petition for Valerie/The Hogan Family that people are signing? If so, I will sign it because I want this show to get released on DVD.

I'd like to see Valerie/The Hogan Family on TV Land before N@N. The typical N@N treatment is if a show doesn't do very well, they'll give it a crappy ungodly late time slot. As much as I love The Hogan Family, I don't think it would do well and that's exactly what would happen.

Talking Hogan Family Show

I remember that when I was living in Panama I got to see several episodes of The Hogan Family show during 1992-1998.They were aired by an American TV network called AFRTS which was very good and run by the U.S. military. The episodes were aired for several years in English.
The Panamenian TV Station called Channel 2 later picked up the show and aired it once a week. The episodes were translated to Spanish and they were always black and white! Too bad, I didn't get to record them. I truly regret it now!
The show did good. I think most of the people that watched it were soldiers and American people that lived in the U.S bases in Panama. They were I believe the main audience. However, many Panamenians did see it .I remember also that the girls from my Jeremy Licht fan club said they were interested in the show as long as Jeremy Licht was on it.
Unfortunately, years later the show stopped airing in Panama. It was a cool tv program. I always enjoyed it very much ! I loved the actors and the plots(and I still do!)

I guess The Hogan Family Show has fans all over the world!

Mrgman! Are you sh**ting us???? That would be awesome!

PAX is the last I saw of it in the late 90s, wish I would've taped it. It aired here in L.A. on KCAL from 3:00-4:00 am around 1993. I used to tape it every night, but unfortunately would erase each night's eps.
