Default if Green Acers had a spin off who do you think would do good on there own

If in 1971 Green Acers only ended because Eddie Albert and Eva Gabor wanted to end the show. And lets just say CBS wanted to keep rural shows on who would be good to have a spin off. Eb would be the choice because he could get married or something or he could meet up with his parents and they could be weirder then him. The Ziffles would not be that good to have a spin off because after the first Mrs Ziffle dies it is not the same without her. And if there was a spin off maybe Eb could marry one of the girls from Petticoat Junction.

Default Spinoffs

I don't know. Personally, the only reason I watch Green Acres is because of the chemistry between Oliver and Lisa and their strange encounters with their neighbors. But I bet all the Eb fans would love to have had a spinoff involving him. I guess it all depends on who your asking.

Laters!!!

P.S. If I offended you in any way, I didn't mean to. Just my humble
opinion.

See ya!!!

Oliver: I'd take a seed, a tiny little seed, I'd plant it in the ground, I'd put some dirt on it, I'd water it, and pretty soon, do you know what I would have?
Lisa: A dirty little wet seed.

Default spinoff

Personally, I would LOVE to see a spin-off based on Mr.Haney. I mean, we'd get to see all the other times he's "ripped people off" and see where all he goes to get the stuff he gets, learn the "tricks of the trade", meet his shady relatives (THAT would be FUN ) and all that jazz.

Had Barbara (the first Mrs. Ziffel) lived. I think they might have been able to pull off a good spinoff.

Other than that, I really don't know since all of the other characters were "out there". You need the straightman thing as the central character(s) to keep it grounded. Just like Seinfeld - a show with just Kramer's character as the lead would bomb because it becomes overkill.

It could be about Haney's Family. I don't think he has a wife but I know he talks about his mother.

Default a spinoff with nothing to do with green acres....

The final episode served as a pilot for a show with nothing to do with green acres. i forgot the premise, because i havent seen the last episode in a long while. the show never picked up. (there was some link between oliver and lisa and the main character of the pilot of the proposed new show, i think they were friends at one time in NY)

I don't really think anyone form Green Acres could pull off a successful spin off... I love the show, and it'll always be in my top 10, but this was an ensemble cast... they all worked so well together, but I can't really see setting a whole show around any one of them.

One of the great things I liked about Green Acres is that, no matter which supporting character you liked, they all had their own scenes in just about every episode. Sometimes they would deal one-on-one with Oliver, other times some combination of them would be togther... but I don't think a spin off of any of those characters would have been good.

I think that no matter how good a character is in his/her original supporting role, there's no guarantee that they could carry a show by themselves... I give you... Rhoda...Phyllis...Joanie and Chachi...the list goes on.
(Yeah, I know that there are a lot of Rhoda fans out there, but neither Rhoda nor the MTM show were ever as good after Valerie and Mary "broke up").

Heck, I don't even think that the "Fred and Ethel" show would have been good ("I Love Ethel")... they needed Lucy and Desi, and vice versa.

You people are forgetting an obvious character who was just as popular, if not more so, than anyone you've mentioned, and that is...

...ARNOLD THE PIG!!!

Now that I would have watched! It would be just like the crew of "Green Acres" to give Arnold his own show.

I wonder how he would have felt about Miss Piggy?
