After All

This sitcom is about a man, his daughter, and his sister living in one NYC studio apartment. John Stamos plays Jake Pelischek, an anchorman for a nation-wide news station. Jake's illegimate 19 year old daughter, Holly Pelischek (Ashlee Simpson) has been living with her dad ever since she was 3 (when her unmarried parents split, leaving Jake with full custody). Holly works part-time at a small family diner, Ruby's Diner. Jake's younger sister, Jodie Pelischek (Sarah Jessica Parker) has moved into Jake and Holly's apartment for 6 years, after Jodie's live-in boyfriend cheated on her and kicked her out of his apartment. Jodie is a celebrity gossip columnist for a New York magazine, The Gossip. Jake's four-time divorced co-anchorwoman, Krystle Carter (Mariah Carey) is Jake's strictly platonic best friend, who just so happens to have a past of having no luck with finding the right man. Holly's best friend and co-worker, Lauren Hayes (Sara Rue), who happens to be what Holly really needs in her life. Lauren and Holly's quirky and perky boss, Ruby Donaldson (Debra Jo Rupp) offers and gives the girls some helpful and wise advice (when needed). Jake, Jodie, and Holly's friendly landlord, Keith Lukas (Eric McCormack) often drops by the Pelischek apartment. Keith is pretty good friends with Jake, yet Keith also is Krystle's most recent (4th) ex-husband.
