Dorene Picard murder case on Discovery Channel

Last Saturday (2/26), the Discovery Channel TV series " Guilty or Innocent?" aired an episode about the murder of Dorene Picard. As you will recall, Picard was the woman who was bludgeoned to death in her Rhode Island home in February of 1982. Her landlady, Susan Laferte, was also beaten, but she survived. Ten years after the crime, a man named Raymond Tempest, Jr. (nicknamed Beaver) was arrested and charged in the case. He was later convicted of Picard's murder, and sentenced to 85 years in prison.

Today, I came across a recent article (at the link above) on the Picard case. It says that the New England Innocence Project contends that Tempest was wrongfully convicted, and is requesting permission to re-examine the evidence.

It also mentions case being featured on GOI, and briefly notes that it was the subject of an UM episode in the late 1980s.
