Default What is a coolacoo?

In the episode where Doug calls Arthur a "demented circus monkey" they end up taking the old guy to a mets game, trying to make him feel better. Carrie goes off to the concessions to get her dad a "coolacoo" (sp?), only to get in the beer only line by mistake where they won't sell her one.

Maybe I'm just Canadian, but what the heck is a coolacoo and why is it bugging me so much?

That was episode #31 or the 6th episode in the second season; it was called Doug Out. I didn't know what the hell she was saying and I'll have to put that disc on closed caption and see if it was a mistake.

Don't know exactly, but it's some kind of ice cream treat. For some reason, I seem to imagine it being like one of those choco-tacos or something.

Anyone?

After an exhaustive internet search for the word "coolacoo" or even "coolakoo" or "cool a coo"....you get the picture, I've concluded there is no such thing at all...at least not any more as nothing turned up anywhere on any search engine. I then tried some ice cream sites and again, nothing. So either we need to find the correct spelling, or we're out of luck. On a list of NY Mets concession items, I did come up with this menu and price list of what they actually sell...

Peanuts--$4
Popcorn--$3.75
Cracker Jacks--$4.25
Cotton Candy--$3.50
Pretzel--$3.75
Nachos--Grande-$5, Supreme-$6
Jumbo Hot Dog--$4.50
Kosher Dog--$4.50
Italian & Bratwurst--$5.50
Cheeseburger--$4.75
Grilled Delux Hamburger with onions--$5.75
Burger Platter w Fries--$7.75
Cheesesteak Sandwich--$6.75
Chicken roll--$6.50
Chicken Nuggets & Fries--$6
4 Chicken Tenders & Fries--$8.50
Pizza, slice--$6.25
Knish--$3.25
Stromboli (ham, mozzarella cheese, mushrooms, tomato sauce wrapped in dough and baked)--$7
Soda--24oz-$3.50, 32oz souvenir-$4.50
Lemonade--16oz-$3.75
Water--20oz-$3.75
Beer, draft--24oz-$6.25
Beer, bottle--16oz-$6.25
Beer, can--12oz-$6.25
Hard Lemonade--$6.25
French Fries--$4.50

Nice to know you can get a 20oz water for under four bucks eh?

Yeah I was gonna say a little earlier that [though I'm a die hard Yankee fan] I've been to Shea on more than one occassion [hey, free tickets. who wouldn't say yes? ] and they never had cool a coos and it probably was made up for the show. I'm guessin' it's somethin' on a stick 'cause she was tellin the concession stand guy something like "I've got an old man out there whose got his heart set on a friggin cool a coo. If i don't see a cool a coo in my hand, I'm gonna put YOU on a stick."

A google search turned up this - (scroll down to the bottom of the page) -

http://www.roadsidepeek.com/retrolook/historical/

Apparently it's some kind of ice cream that's sold at Dodger Stadium.

Well there's a big "oops" from CBS. This just illustrates how involved CBS is with this show. Wake up guys, this show could be #1 if you cared AT ALL!

The site is really bland. You are right it could be #1. Its a great show. It should be on Mondays if you ask me. Instead of some of those dumb shows currently on. I wonder if it will take ELR's spot next year?
