Post Other stations that show Family Ties....

In my area local Christian station also airs Family Ties. Do you think they will still air it ever once N@N gets it?

It may or may not. I doubt it will though. There aren't too many stations that still air Family Ties. Even TBS runs it only on the weekends. The stations that are currently running it now are doing it probably to finish off their contracts. That's probably why KARE NBC 11 is running it twice a day. There's a chance that it'll still run in syndication once it hits Nick At Nite, but I doubt it. I thought that Beverly Hillbillies and Gomer Pyle ended syndication once they hit Nick/TV Land, but I was wrong. There are still some stations that carry the two. I know that Cheers will still run in syndication once it hits Nick.

I think locals will still continue to air it, if you look at Three's Company it still airs in local syndication. There are probably the same or more local stations airing Family Ties then Three's Company right now.

I'm really surprised TBS is apparently going to be showing Family Ties right up to the weekend of September 23rd and then the next day it will start on Nick at Nite with a week long marathon.

Thumbs up

I think Vision TV still airs Family Ties. It was on from the fall to around spring last year. I think the show will come back on the air in the fall. At least that's what I heard.

I thought that once one station bought the rights, the other stations couldn't show it anymore.

WOIO in Cleveland airs it at like 4:00 in the morning on Friday late nights.

Well, that depends on the individual contract the station in question has - There is nothing generic here...

The last time I checked, Channel 50 out of Chicago airs Family Ties as well as The Jeffersons, Good Times, Gimme a Break, Sanford & Son and All in the Family

N@N has exclusive cable rights to the series, which means that no other cable network will air it for the duration of the contract. But they don't have exclusive broadcast rights, so local stations can still purchase it. A local station in New Hampshire still runs it weekdays at 5:00 pm.
