Default Blizzard?

I'm hearing conflicting reports on this storm, ranging from only rain to major snow accumulation. Where are T.F. Stormtracker and Brent88 when we need them?

I've stocked up on dehydrated food and bottled water just to be on the safe side.
I didn't do all that Y2K prep for nothing!

THE EXACT TRACK OF THE STORM REMAINS UNCERTAIN, SO OUR FORECAST AND OUR SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS MAY CHANGE AS WE DRAW CLOSER TO THE TIME OF THE EVENT. YOU ARE, HOWEVER, URGED TO PREPARE NOW FOR THE POSSIBILITY OF A PERIOD OF HEAVY SNOWFALL MONDAY AND MONDAY NIGHT.

Sorry about the caps. I think we'll have to wait it out for a little while more to see exactly what this storm will bring.

I don't understand why the meteorologists can't nail this one or even ballpark it. The weatherman on my local news said that it will either rain or snow Monday into Tuesday. And, that the rain or snow will end early Tuesday evening. Exact words.

Here in Pa, were supposed to get anywhere from 3-7inches or maybe more. The weathermen won't commit to anything.

That's why I switched my shift to 5 in the morning. I can't take the chance of being stuck in the morning.

Sometimes storms are hard to read. If a meteorologist isn't sure about a certian storm it wouldn't be smart of them to commit to a forecast. More information will keep coming up as the night progresses.

Portions of South Jersey, PA, and Maryland are now under a Winter Storm Warning. We're still just in a watch, I believe...

SNOW WILL BEGIN FROM SOUTH TO NORTH DURING THE MORNING HOURS ON MONDAY AS AN INTENSIFYING AREA OF LOW PRESSURE APPROACHES THE REGION. THERE IS STILL SOME UNCERTAINTY AS TO THE EXACT TRACK OF THE LOW AS IT MOVES BY AND A DIFFERENCE OF POSITION BY AS LITTLE AS 30 TO 50 MILES CAN HAVE A BIG INFLUENCE ON WHAT TYPE OF PRECIPITATION FALLS AND WHERE.

The storm is hard to read because the low is just now forming off the Carolina coast. If it moves 50 miles east, NYC will get hammered with over a foot of snow. If it moves slightly west, rain can mix in. Right now it looks like the major cities in the Northeast (NYC, Philly, Boston) will get hit hard. My area (close to NYC) is slated for 8-14 inches, as of now. Heavy snow and 40 MPH winds ... make this Blizzard #2 for 2005!

Check out the radar on this baby: http://abclocal.go.com/wabc/weather/..._animated.html

And the track, according to GFS:
