Couldn't the ring on Beaver's finger have been slipped off by 'greasing' Beaver's finger with some kind of lubricant like baby, mineral, or vegetable oil?

Can you think of any other way that ring could have been taken off Beaver's finger?

The nurse did try to soak it off. I recall an episode of The Lucy Show where Lucy got bombed on sleeping pills so she could relax Mrs. Mooney's ring off her finger. I don't think the school district would approve of such methods.

The school nurse Miss Thompson (Anne Loos) soaked Beaver's hand in water thinking the water would shrivel Beaver's skin and the ring would come off. The water didn't shrivel Beaver's finger and the ring didn't come off.

The nurse also put something from a bottle on Beaver's finger and tugged at the ring. What the stuff was we don't know (it was probably rubbing alcohol) but it didn't get the ring off either.
