Lucky Numbers Episode Question - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I have watched the lucky numbers episode both dvd uncut and tvland edited version this week. and one thing keeps popping into my head. Did Ethel and Bubba con Fred out of 450 dollars of his lottery winnings.I say yes they did because they both hammed it up acting too pitiful.What do yall think?

I think they did. I can't believe Fred gave them the money. If I was Fred, I would have told them to take a hike.

I think Ethel might have played it up a little. Bubba i think was truthful.

Actually, I looked at it as big mouth Lamont conned Fred to give his money away.

Yeah Lamont helped too playing on freds emotions..Did you notice how both after they got their money told fred and lamont bless you fred bless you lamont and bless this house. makes me think they had their sob stories planned.

At least Fred got those really fancy clothes from Phil's Fashion Box. He looked very spiffy!
